The Official Opening of Kirk Lane Nursing Home

Kirk Lane was officially opened in August by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by its first resident, Norman Todd and former Director of Nursing, Ingrid Neville. Whilst a more modest occasion than previous Randolph Hill home openings, due to following strict Covid guidelines, the day was still full of celebration as our ten new residents, family and staff gathered to enjoy the music, summer drinks and delicious canapés in the spectacular Kirk Lane garden. It was a wonderful and happy occasion that also safely brought loved ones together again: two residents met their great grandchildren for the first time!

Speeches from Managing Director Peter McCormick and former Director of Nursing, Ingrid Neville reflected on the incredible work involved to create the new state of the art, luxury nursing home that will bring a high standard of nursing care to the local community. They were also joined by Katie Wood, Director of Care Standards and Clare Allen, Director of Nursing Homes Operations. This was the first event of its kind in a care home in West Lothian during the pandemic and the planning was praised by Public Health and is now being used as a template by them for other care homes to consider.

Through a £9m investment from Randolph Hill, Kirk Lane, in Livingston Village, is built on the former Livingston Development Corporation site. The high standard nursing home brings 80 new jobs to the town and will help address the current gap in quality care home provision in West Lothian.

There are six suites within the home each with an attractive lounge area, dining room with pantry and ten beautiful, well equipped bedrooms. Other welcoming shared spaces include a function suite with residents’ kitchen and a communal balcony with views to the private garden.

Matthew McCanny is the Manager and has worked in management for Randolph Hill since 2016 and together with Deputy Manager Ann Livingstone, who has worked for the company since 2010, they plan to develop a first class environment for residents and staff.
