Celebrating Members of the Team

We continue to shine a light on some of our loyal team members as Randolph Hill Group celebrates 40 Years. Today we thank Senior Carer Aileen Kelly for her dedication.

“I joined Muirfield in November 2005 as a carer,  and was promoted to senior carer and then principal carer. I chose to step back to senior carer as I missed being hands-on and more involved with the residents- and I love my role!

The best thing about working for Randolph Hill is being part of a strong team. It is also nice when senior management acknowledge all staff personally. I also enjoy forming strong bonds with families, and friendships with staff, along with watching residents and families enjoying taking part in activities.

When I joined Muirfield, we were in the old building before Randolph Hill took over. This was a lovely, homely building but not purpose-built. It was therefore amazing to watch the new building take shape and to finally help and support residents move into their brand-new, beautiful purpose-built home in 2017, and the official opening by the Lord Lieutenant.

We have celebrated residents 100th birthdays, and recently I was privileged to help one of our residents get dressed to celebrate her wedding: our first ever wedding in the nursing home.

I love when the therapy ponies visit. They bring pure joy to the residents and are amazing, especially when they visit residents who are unable to leave their bed.

We loved when the Red Hot Chilli Pipers performed. This was a great event for the residents and the staff. It was a lovely event organised by the company. We all had a great time together.

During lock-down, a resident celebrated her birthday, and I arranged for her family to visit at the window while she cut her cake and opened her cards. Staff sang ‘happy birthday’, making it that bit easier for her friends and family at a difficult time.”
