Jed Renilson 10k Road Race

.

The leading UK event, sponsored by Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group, in memory of the Borders’ well-known disability sport coach, attracted some of the top names in wheelchair and handcycle racing. It started with legendary GB star Tanni Grey Thompson, and her husband Ian, along with a new generation of talent who have become household names with the growth in TV coverage of Paralympics since London 2012.

The event in Jedburgh was organised by Graham Cook and the Scottish Borders Disability Sport Group. Leading Scottish wheelchair athlete, Samantha Kinghorn, won the ladies race, and fellow Paralympian, Nathan Maguire, won the men’s race. Ken Talbot won the hand cycle, and also holds the world land speed record for this.

Mickey Bushell, a gold medal winner from London 2012, also joined the event as a coach.

Congratulations to all!
