From the outset the staff made my father feel very much at home. He enjoyed the evening music sessions, occasional trips out and other activities. Throughout the whole of his stay the staff were unfailingly patient, empathetic and responsive to his changing needs.
I think I can speak for all the family in saying that his last few years could not have been spent in a better place, and he could not have been better looked after.

We wanted to tell you what a great job the nurses and carers did for Gran.
Gran had her nails painted for the first time (at the age of 95!), and was delighted to show them to us. All the girls were brilliant with Gran, and the nurses we met were wonderful.
Our countless questions were answered in a way that showed they knew Gran well and gave us the facts in a considerate way that showed they cared. They were always there when it mattered, and couldn’t have done more for us. For that we will always be grateful.

I am so thankful for the wonderful support, particularly during the last couple of days of mum’s life when the staff were so attentive – not only to mum’s needs but ours as a family – always ensuring we were kept informed and included in her care. My mum was one of the first residents to move into the home in Broxburn. While it was being built, we regularly took her down to see the building gradually taking shape and eventually became the modern, homely, well run establishment it is today.

I witnessed a level of care which I believe went way beyond the role of each person involved. I saw people coming in just to say hello or if going off, would say goodbye. I wanted to thank you and your extended team for the wonderful care my Great Aunt Di received. Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of her taking up residence. I have been delighted with the care she has received over this time as there have been many dark days.

I have been very impressed with the standard of care my father received. I know he was content, happy and genuinely well cared for. I realise that dementia is a difficult illness to deal with, but all the staff treated my father with respect and kindness and looked beyond the disease to the person, which is so important.
I was always given a warm welcome on arrival by your receptionist and found all the staff to be professional and friendly. The entertainment and outings have been varied and stimulating for my father and I know he particularly liked the personal gestures of letting him hold a kitten, and a visit to the Transport Museum; two of his favourite things.
My father never questioned why he was not in his own home. I feel that it was because of the warm atmosphere; a home from home. He really enjoyed the company and the wonderful food!
Most of all I have been impressed and grateful for the way my father was looked after during his last days, allowing him to die with dignity and in peace.
