In the Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group, we are committed to provide the best possible care we can in ever changing circumstances.
Randolph Hill is following all the government advice that is being issued regularly during the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and will continue to do so. This may mean that some members of our staff team may need to social distance or self-isolate. We have made plans to ensure that our Homes are filled with staff so that our residents stay well during this difficult time. However, as part of our business continuity planning, we would also like to put some contingency steps in place just in case sourcing agency staff cover becomes increasingly difficult.
This is a time when we may call on volunteers from the community to offer support in the Homes with some of the tasks listed below. There are certain prerequisites that would be required to be met and volunteers would only be called upon if the need did arise and this may be at short notice.
The volunteering roles we are looking for are;
· Assisting domestic staff by cleaning and recycling
· Supporting kitchen staff by dish washing and food preparation
· Helping reception staff by answering and transferring phones calls
· General handyman tasks e.g. simple household repairs
Our Nursing Homes and their locations are Ashley Court (Morningside, Edinburgh), Blenham House (Sighthill, Edinburgh), Fidra House (North Berwick), Muirfield (Gullane), Holmesview (Broxburn) and Randolph Hill (Dunblane).
This would be an ongoing arrangement whilst COVID-19 Government measures are in place. Set hours would be agreed upfront but would be a minimum of 8 hours per week.
Volunteers must be 18 or over, and fit and well with no symptoms.Unfortunately, we would not be able to accept applications from those in higher-risk groups (including those over 70, those who are pregnant or with underlying medical conditions).
Your safety is our priority. The majority of tasks can be undertaken while social distancing.
