The vegetable project at Kirk Lane

At Kirk Lane, we’ve been growing various vegetables with some residents helping plant and then harvest them. It’s been wonderful and very satisfying to then enjoy the fresh vegetables at mealtimes.

Residents enjoyed pickled beetroot with their meal on Friday, celery and carrots were added to the soups, and we had a small harvest of new potatoes which were served with Sunday dinner and stovies too.

We are now looking forward to our crop of Brussel sprouts, leeks & pumpkins.
